I did this job for CATO at the beginning of this year. I really tried to shorten my time per image without sacrificing quality.

I know I just said in one of my last posts that I want to merge my storyboard style with my concept art style but I just couldn't help myself. I love this look. It's just going to have to be the style I use for designing animation as opposed to live action.

For some time I have kept my storyboard work and concept art separate, resulting in two different looks and approaches. While I am grateful for the ability to be diverse and adapt to many different styles, I want to bring both worlds together.

From here on out I will be updating this blog with art from both categories. Please continue to check in every now and then to see my latest work. Also, if you want to see more of my storyboard work from the past, please go to: www.johnpaulcokes.com

I really liked the way this one turned out. I really tried to utilize the palette knife to speed up this job and get a different look than what I was use to.

I was really happy with this project too. Being able to jump to different environments helped keep it interesting.
